Misere mei, Deus, secundum magnam misericordiam tuam.
Have mercy on me, O God in Your goodness.

COUNTRY MUSIC STAR KEVIN DENNEY FROM MONTICELLO, KENTUCKY
Although I have not met Mr. Kevin Denney personally, I did so know his Uncle, Mr. Norman Denney, who was a tutor to my children and a very nice soul. I really thought the world of him, when he would come to the house, he was such a pleasant and kind person, and very thoughtful and patient. He had an ease about him, watching him work with my children teaching them, was a joy.
I have listened to Kevin for years on the radio, and Norman would talk about him. He was proud of him, very proud of him. He would talk tales with me as the children did their assignments. He was only hired to tutor my son, but he didn't mind one bit, my daughter sitting down and joining in, in learning. He encouraged it.
Kevin Denney sold some CDs at a Charity Yard Sale here at least once. I'll have to dig it out to see the name/cause, but I bought one. Paid $5.00 for it, and swore I would never open it, as it was and is holding a special place and time in my heart. I put it up and been put away for decades now, and I got it out not long back and broke the seal on it and popped it in the player and had a listen. Afterward, I put it back in that CD case and tried my best to seal it back up looking like it had never been opened still, but hey, what can I say, I gave in and opened it once. I still put it back up and away with a CD I have of Lisa Marie that's special, and a book of Loretta Lynn's "The Coal Miner's Daughter", and some other things. My personal private little collection, keep back for keepsakes.

Kevin Denney (born January 27, 1978, in Monticello, Kentucky) is an American country music artist. Signed to Lyric Street Records in 2001, he made his debut on the country music scene with the release of his self-titled album (2002’s Kevin Denney), which produced three chart singles, including "That's Just Jessie", a Top 20 hit on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts. He was dropped from Lyric Street's roster in 2003, although he co-wrote a track on Tracy Byrd's 2006 Different Things album.
Denney's interest in music began at an early age. His mother and father, both of whom sang in a gospel music quartet, bought Denney his first guitar when he was three years old. He also became a frequent listener of the Grand Ole Opry radio shows and played in his cousin's bluegrass music band.
At age 17, however, he briefly stopped focusing on his musical interests to reassess his future. On his eighteenth birthday, his girlfriend took him to a George Strait concert. Seeing Strait in concert helped Denney discover that music was his passion, and he later joined a local band that was looking for a lead singer. Denney later went solo and was signed to Lyric Street Records in 2001. His eponymous debut album, released in 2002, produced three charting singles on the Hot Country Songs charts: "That's Just Jessie" at number 16, "Cadillac Tears" at number 30, and "It'll Go Away" at number 43. He also contributed a rendition of "White Christmas" to the label's multi-artist compilation No Wrapping Required.
In late 2003, Denney charted a fourth single, "A Year at a Time," which peaked at number 44 on the country charts. The song did not appear on an album, and Denney exited the label.
He co-wrote a track on Tracy Byrd's 2006 album Different Things, and Craig Morgan's 2009 single "Bonfire." He also co-wrote "Don't Ask Me About a Woman", a song recorded by Easton Corbin on his 2010 self-titled debut album.

I don't know if his Uncle Norman is still alive or not, as I have not seen or run into him in town or anywhere in many years now. But he was a terrific man, One Kevin can be proud of, he had a big heart. I know I thank him for working with my children and treating them equally and being so understanding. I never got to meet Kevin yet, I know back then, I hoped maybe I would one day when he swung thru home here, but it has not happened yet.
