Stewed Cinnamon Apples

We humbly entreat Your Majesty, O Lord, that as the Blessed Apostle Andrew was once a teacher and ruler of Your Church, so he may be our constant intercessor before You. Through our Lord.

AMEN

Stewed Cinnamon Apples

The perfect sweet side to your savory meal! With the delightful cinnamon and nutmeg atop, these Stewed Cinnamon Apples are delicious and only take an hour to make.

Ingredients -

• 6 cups chopped peeled granny smith apples (about 2 pounds)

• 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

• 1/4 cup apple juice

• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

• 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

• 1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions -

Step 1Combine all ingredients in a large, heavy saucepan.

Step 2Cover and cook over medium-low heat 45 minutes or until apple is tender, stirring occasionally.

Step 3Let stand for 5 minutes. Serve warm!

I believe this would also cook just as well in a slow cooker, personal opinion. Next time I grab a bag of granny apples, I am going to try it and see.
